In my surreal selfie I wanted to describe my softball career. The apps I used are Pixlr, Snapseed, Photosplash and Prisma. I did a photo splash, put a mosaic filter on and added my motto. I did the photo splash because I wanted the attention on me. The mosaic was put on because it represents my softball skills being put together and made out of my backyard. I put my motto on the picture because I’ve went by that motto for my entire softball life. I’ve been playing softball for almost 11 years now and I really like how my photo turned out because I feel other people will understand my whole softball background more with the little details added in and my reasoning's for each.
I took the photo in my backyard. I took it in my backyard because that’s where I got better and stronger not only physically but mentally too. My dad and I have spent many hours in our backyard practicing and practicing and practicing. This is even more special to me because we didn’t have all the fancy equipment that made a player “better”. My dad would get creative and make different, expensive equipment out of basically trash in our backyard. My dad is the main reason I’m a stronger athlete today. He invested so much time and effort into making not only me but my brother too better athletes. I can’t thank him enough for what he has done to help me. My backyard is black and white and I’m natural colors because there were hard and dark times when practicing with my dad but an athlete was born out of all the hard work and time both my dad and I put in. The mosaic is supposed say that an athlete was created out of my backyard. My dad and I put together all the pieces of the mosaic that created a strong softball player. My dad always would say, “Work hard play hard.” Eventually I stuck to that motto and anytime I wanted to give up I get going with that motto repeating itself in my head. I realized the way I practiced was how I performed in games.
