1. I took the pictures on a tripod in a dark room with the camera in manual mode and manual focus. My partner made hearts, a circle, the number two, a spiky-like circle and a line. The app used was called mylightpaint.
2. A problem that occurred was the phone brightness level was low so that caused the picture to just be black and no light paint. 3. The three most important things I learned from light painting is the phone brightness needs to be all the way up, don't go super fast when making the light paint image, and the room must be completely dark in order to get a good image. 4. Other ideas for light painting could be an angel or devil, words, outline of body, and many more ideas.

To change the camera to shutter speed priority you just have to switch the mode dial on top of the camera to S. When the shutter speed priority is at 1/3 the picture is very blurry and bright. When the shutter speed is at 1/30 some movement is blurry but others are in focus. When the shutter speed is at 1/60 very little blurriness appears. When the shutter speed is at 1/250 mostly everything is clear. Lastly when the shutter speed is at 1/1000 everything is clear and no movements are blurred. If someone is running or biking you'd want to change the priority to shutter speed because the main focus will be still with no blur around him/her. Shutter Speed Notes
Gather all the materials wanted for the Cyanotype and lay them on top of the digital negative. Place a piece of pled glass on top of it Then go outside and leave it out for five minutes if it's supper sunny. If it's not so sunny leave it out in the sun for 15-20 minutes. After the minutes are up bring the photo back inside and put it in a water and 3% hydrogen peroxide mix in order to make it blue. After a few moments it should start to turn blue. Drain the water/hydrogen peroxide mix. Place on a towel to dry and then you're done.

One day Amber and her mother were getting ready to go to Amber's surfing lesson. She has been surfing for 11 years and she really likes it. She got dressed and chose her pink and white surfboard. Her and her mother headed out. Her mother just got a brand new car and wanted to take it out. So they started to drive down the road to the beach. Amber was so excited but was a little nervous because they were running a little late and there was sometimes heavy traffic on the main road. Luck was on their side this particular morning or was it.... A suspicious man was standing on the other side of the road watching the car drive by. They were too busy jamming out to their favorite song they failed to recognize the man who was watching their car. The man disappeared out of sight and before they knew it... BAM! There the man was tugging at the steering wheel and pushing Amber's mother. Amber was panicking and didn't know what to do. Her mother was struggling to help herself and make sure they weren't going to crash. The man would stop at nothing to get the car. Amber didn't know what to do but all of a sudden she decided to hit the man with her surfboard. He went flying through the air then plugged into the assault. He was knocked out cold. The mother slammed in her brakes and came to a screeching halt. They came out of the car and made sure everything was okay with them and the car. The mother was so proud of her daughter and happy they were alive. She was also happy to see her car was still looking brand new. They hoped back in the car and headed to the beach. They finally got there and she was on time! This made Amber so happy. She jumped into the water and was happy to be surfing and alive.
Aperture f/1.8, Shutter Speed 1/2000th of a second, ISO 200 Aperture f/8, Shutter Speed 1/100th of a second, ISO 100 Aperture f/16, Shutter Speed 1/25th of a second, ISO 200 In the top picture the very front box is clear and the two in the back are blurry. The aperture was f/1.8 which makes the distance the camera is able to see shorter. The middle picture both the front and middle box are clear and the back one is blurry. The aperture was f/8 which made the distance the camera is able to be a little bit longer. The last picture all the boxes are visible. The aperture was f/16 which makes the cameras distance longer and in this case able to capture all the things in the picture clearly.
DSLR: digital single lens reflex
A dslr is a camera that uses mirrors to detect light from the lens to the viewfinder The viewfinder is a hole on the back of the camera that you look through to see what you’re taking a picture of. Exposure is the amount of light captured by the sensor in your camera during a single picture If the shot is exposed too long the photo will be washed out If the shot is exposed too short the photo will be too dark Almost all cameras today have light meters which measure the light in the given shot and set an ideal exposure 3 primary controls your camera uses for exposure: aperture shutter speed and ISO Aperture is a hole within a lens through which light travels into the camera body Every camera that we know of today is designed like human eyes In photography, aperture is exposed in f-numbers (f/5.6) AKA: f-stops They’re a way of describing the size of the aperture or how open or closed the aperture is Small apertures (high f-numbers ie f/22) increase the depth of feel, bringing everything into focus Large apertures (low f/numbers ie f/2.8) soften background details DOF: distance to which objects behind and in front of the focal point appear to be in focus Shutter speed aka exposure time it’s the length of time a camera shutter is open to expose light into the camera sensor. Shutter speeds are measured in fractions of a second when they’re under a second Rule of thumb: slowest speed for handheld photography is 1/60. Anything slower than that should be on a straight, solid surface or a tripod ISO: is the level of sensitivity of your camera to available light The lower the number the less sensitive it is to the light and a higher number increases the sensitivity on your camera The component within your camera that can change the sensitivity is called image sensor or sensor General rule of thumb: bright and sunny, 100 iso cloudy, 250 iso indoors, 500 iso nighttime without a flash, 1600 iso M- manual control over aperture and shutter A- aperture priority S- shutter priority P- camera sets shutter speed and aperture Have camera around your neck at all times and hold camera by lens and hand grip if possible. Camera obscura is when a small speck of light shines through a hole. The entire space has to be pitch black in order to see the picture properly. The image that is on the wall is flipped upside down and backwards.
In my surreal selfie I wanted to describe my softball career. The apps I used are Pixlr, Snapseed, Photosplash and Prisma. I did a photo splash, put a mosaic filter on and added my motto. I did the photo splash because I wanted the attention on me. The mosaic was put on because it represents my softball skills being put together and made out of my backyard. I put my motto on the picture because I’ve went by that motto for my entire softball life. I’ve been playing softball for almost 11 years now and I really like how my photo turned out because I feel other people will understand my whole softball background more with the little details added in and my reasoning's for each.
I took the photo in my backyard. I took it in my backyard because that’s where I got better and stronger not only physically but mentally too. My dad and I have spent many hours in our backyard practicing and practicing and practicing. This is even more special to me because we didn’t have all the fancy equipment that made a player “better”. My dad would get creative and make different, expensive equipment out of basically trash in our backyard. My dad is the main reason I’m a stronger athlete today. He invested so much time and effort into making not only me but my brother too better athletes. I can’t thank him enough for what he has done to help me. My backyard is black and white and I’m natural colors because there were hard and dark times when practicing with my dad but an athlete was born out of all the hard work and time both my dad and I put in. The mosaic is supposed say that an athlete was created out of my backyard. My dad and I put together all the pieces of the mosaic that created a strong softball player. My dad always would say, “Work hard play hard.” Eventually I stuck to that motto and anytime I wanted to give up I get going with that motto repeating itself in my head. I realized the way I practiced was how I performed in games. |
